Woman jailed for spitting at officer
A Birmingham woman has been jailed after using coronavirus as a threat against a police officer.
Donna Selvey was in Oldbury custody block on Sunday 29 March as she was wanted for breaching a previous court order, when she became verbally abusive to officers and complained of back pain.
A response officer was speaking to Selvey through the hatch to arrange a nurse visit, when she spat in the PC's face and shouted “drop dead of coronavirus”.
The 33-year-old was further arrested and charged with assaulting an officer.
At Wolverhamptom Magistrates Court on Wednesday 13 May, Donna Selvey from the Sparkhill area of Birmingham was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison.
