Woman dies following Tipton collision

A woman who suffered serious injuries in a collision in Tipton yesterday (10 Jan) has sadly died.
The 73-year-old was struck by a van just before 2pm on Birmingham New Road and was taken to hospital where she passed away this morning.  Another woman, in her 60s, who was also seriously injured remains in hospital in a stable condition.
The driver of the van stopped at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries.
Sgt Dean Caswell, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are continuing to establish the circumstances of yesterday’s collision and we continue to appeal to anyone who saw what happened or anyone with dash cam footage to get in touch with us as soon as possible.
"Our sympathies remain with the family of the lady who has sadly died from her injuries today.”
