Woman charged with wounding over city centre attack
A woman has been charged with wounding following a Birmingham city centre attack that’s left another woman fighting for her life.
It’s alleged Savannah Ward, aged 22 and of no fixed address, attacked the victim in Bull Street last Wednesday (1 May).
The victim, a 20-year-old woman, suffered a serious head injury and remains in a critical condition in hospital.
Ward was arrested by West Midlands Police officers on 5 May and appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court the following day where she was remanded into prison until her next court appearance.
A 19-year-old woman has also been arrested in connection with the incident and released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Inspector Vanessa Eyles, from the force CID team, said: “Although somebody has been charged, I am still really keen to speak to anyone who has any information or witnessed the disorder last Wednesday evening to get in touch."
