Two people charged after a woman died following a series of robberies

Two people have been charged after a woman died following a series of robberies in Birmingham. 

The 73-year-old woman fell to the ground after a man tried to take her handbag on 5 February in Petersfield Road, Hall Green. She received treatment for her injuries and was released from hospital, however she was re-admitted on Friday 15 December and sadly died the following day. Enquiries are ongoing to determine her cause of death.

Two other women were also targeted within hours of the offence taking place.

A 15-year old boy from Birmingham, who can’t be named for legal reasons, and Marius Lucian, aged 21 of Lyncroft Road, Birmingham, have been charged with two counts of robbery, assault with intent to commit robbery and manslaughter.

They are due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates court later today (Friday 22 February).

Four other people, aged between 14 and 22, who were arrested have been released on police bail.
