Three teens charged over Wolverhampton shooting
West Midlands Police has charged three teenagers over a shooting in which a man suffered gunshot wounds to his foot.
The victim – a man in his 30s – was shot in Joan Street, Wolverhampton, at around 5pm on Tuesday evening (21 May).
He was treated in hospital for injuries consistent with a shotgun discharge but is due to soon be released.
West Midlands Police arrested four people shortly after the shooting – and last night three were charged with possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.
Elijah Edwards (18) from Pond Lane and 19-year-old Micah Lewis from Legge Street – both in Wolverhampton – plus a 16-year-old from Bilston were all due to appear at Walsall Magistrates Court today.
A 13-year-old male youth, from Bilston, also arrested in connection with the incident has been bailed pending further enquiries with conditions banning him from the Parkfields area and to live and sleep at a specific address.
West Midlands Police detectives continue to investigate and are appealing for anyone who was in or near Joan Street at the time – or who was driving and may have caught something on dash-cam – to get in touch.
