Three arrested over Grindr dating app robberies

West Midlands Police has arrested three teenagers in connection with robberies on men lured to secluded Birmingham parkland via the dating app Grindr.

The victims were separately attacked and robbed by a group in Yardley after being contacted for potential dates.

These took place off Yardley Green Road on 5 January and 18 March; and off Hob Moor Road last Sunday, 24 March.

Two male youths aged 17, plus a 16-year-old lad, were arrested yesterday afternoon from the Bordesley Green on suspicion of robbery and are currently in police custody.

If you’re planning to meet someone you’ve met on any dating app, the safest place to meet is in a well-populated public area. Make sure you tell someone you trust where you are going.
