Three arrested after firearms discharge in Birmingham street

We've arrested three men in connection with a shooting in a Birmingham street last night (9 Sept).

Armed police were sent to Bellefield Road, Winson Green, at 7.15pm following reports of a gunshot being heard and a group of men running from the scene.

Three men aged 26, 24 and 20 were arrested by our firearms officers in the street on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. They remain in police custody.

Searches are being conducted in Bellefield Road in connection with the shooting and a section of the street remains cordoned off.

A man aged 22 later presented to hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg; we are working to understand how that man came to be injured and if it's connected to the same firearms discharge in Bellefield Road.

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to message us on Live Chat via our website or call 101 quoting log 3468 from 9 Sept. Alternatively call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
