Teens injured after car hit tram in Wolverhampton

A teenage girl has been taken to hospital with serious head injuries after the car she was travelling in hit a tram in Wolverhampton this morning (16 Sept).

The driver of the car has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A passenger on the tram also received minor injuries.

The collision happened around 6.30am in Bilston Street and roads have been closed while emergency services are at the scene.

We are speaking to witnesses and exploring CCTV to establish how the collision happened.
