Shirley Police join community for Easter celebration – and to help those in need
Officers from the Shirley Neighbourhood Police Team joined the Solihull Christian Fellowship for a special Easter celebration.
The Fellowship hosts a ‘community lunch’ at The Bridge every Wednesday – a free event offering bringing members of the local community together and giving people the opportunity to raise any concerns and access support services.
The special Easter lunch (Weds 17 April) also included a journey through the Easter story together with crafts and games for children.
PCSO Ricardo Gambino said: “We have worked closely with Solihull Christian Fellowship and members of the community and continue to encourage people to come along.
"This has made such a huge difference to the lives of many people. Without it the harsh reality is that some of these people, many of whom are lonely or in need of support, often don’t see or speak to people for days and in some cases weeks.
“The lunch is organised by a team of volunteers from the Fellowship who put together a hearty meal and offer support and company to those who need it.
“It happens every Wednesday, so I would encourage anyone who knows somebody who would benefit from this to spread the word.”
