Serious collision on Summer Road, Erdington

Police are currently at the scene of a serious collision involving a car and a people carrier on Summer Road, Erdington.

Officers were called to the incident just before 11pm last night (23 March). Ambulance and fire service colleagues are also in attendance.

There were seven individuals in the people carrier; two adults, and five children. 

A five-year-old child suffered a broken leg, and another child, aged three, has suspected internal injuries. They’ve been taken to hospital alongside both adults who have serious, possible life-changing injuries. 

Specialist officers are looking after the other three children who sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash.

The driver of the red VW Golf, a man in his 30’s, has been taken to hospital with suspected serious injuries.

Summer Road is closed at the junction with Sutton New Road and York Road. Please avoid the area if possible.
