Second arrest in Keon Lincoln murder investigation

Detectives investigating the murder of 15-year-old Keon Lincoln in Handsworth on Thursday (21 Jan) have made a further arrest.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Birmingham last night and remains in custody this morning for questioning. Another 14-year-old boy arrested yesterday morning (22 Jan) also remains in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Alastair Orencas, from the force’s homicide unit, said: “This is a challenging investigation given the number of offenders we believe were involved, but I have a dedicated team of officers working 24/7 to identify those involved and we are making swift progress.

“This arrest is another step forward and Keon’s family have been fully updated with this latest development.

“My thoughts remain with them in their time of grief."

Cordons held at the scene in Linwood Road and Wheeler Street, where the car was abandoned, have now been lifted.

We continue to urge anyone with information to get in touch via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101. Information and footage can be uploaded via our dedicated portal or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
