Second arrest in hunt for barber shop shooting gunman

Detectives investigating a shooting at a Walsall barbers shop have made a second arrest for attempted murder.

A 17-year-old handed himself into a police station yesterday (21 May), he was questioned and then subsequently released on police bail in relation to the shooting in Wolverhampton Road, Birchills, at around 5pm on Sunday (19 May).

A 23-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his stomach and remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

Officers are keen to secure any dash-cam footage from drivers who were in the area around the time and may have captured a black BMW X1.

A BMW was later found burnt out and it’s thought the vehicle could have been used as a getaway. A 19-year-old man arrested on Monday remains on police bail.
