Police investigating attempted murder - appeal to trace arsonist
Police are appealing to trace a man caught on camera setting fire to a car in Adderley Road, Birmingham on Tuesday 4 July.
The vehicle – a grey Audi A4, registration OU03 HGA was stolen from outside a property in Bordesley Green, Birmingham on 2 July.
The following day it was used as the getaway vehicle in an attempted murder which took place on Arthur Street in Small Heath where a 33-year-old man was shot in the chest.
Two men have been charged in connection with the shooting.
Qasim Hussain, aged 25, of no fixed address, was charged with wounding and possession of a firearm.
Suliman Mohammed, also aged 25 from Whitmore Road, Birmingham was charged with the same offences plus two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs after heroin and crack cocaine were seized from his address.
Both are on remand awaiting trial.
The man caught on CCTV torching the vehicle used in the shooting is neither Hussain nor Mohammed, and officers are now urgently appealing to trace this individual.
