Police appealing to trace victims after incidents of sexual assault in Bordesley Green
We’re appealing to trace three women who were sexually assaulted outside McDonalds in Bordesley Green on 20 November last year.
The matter was reported to us by someone inside the restaurant who had witnessed a man approaching and grabbing women outside the store. CCTV of the incident shows the suspect, who was riding a red bicycle at the time, grabbing the women’s buttocks.
A fourth woman contacted police the same day to report that she was sexually assaulted outside Dixy Chicken, which is just a short walk away from McDonalds.
Footage we’ve looked at as part of our investigation suggests the same man is responsible for these incidents. We’ve identified and arrested a 39-year-old man on suspicion of sexual assault. He has been released pending further investigation.
We’re now appealing directly to the three women who were assaulted to get in contact with us. We know that you might not be completely sure what happened or how to talk about it, but our trained officers and partner organisations are here to listen and work together to support you in any way we can.
Anyone else who witnessed happened is urged to get in touch if they haven’t done so already. Please remember, your information could help us bring the offender to justice and make sure that other people are kept safe.
