Police appeal for information following serious Walsall collision

Police are appealing for information after a teenager was hit by an ambulance in Walsall yesterday afternoon (Monday 13 May).

Officers were called to Lichfield Street at around 5:40pm where a 15-year-old boy had been hit by an ambulance which was on blue lights responding to another incident.

The boy was taken to hospital with serious head injuries, where he remains in a critical condition.

Sergeant Alan Wood, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said “It is important for everyone involved that we piece together the events that led to the collision and I would appeal directly to anyone who saw what happened and has not yet contacted us, or may have caught the collision on a dash-cam, to get in touch."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit via email on FL_COLLISION_INVEST@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk, via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk between 8am and midnight or by calling 101 anytime. Please quote log 1980 of 13 May.
