Police appeal following serious Hodge hill collision

Police are appealing for information following a serious collision at the junction of Coleshill Road and Southbourne Avenue just before 4:50pm yesterday (Tuesday 6 August).

A woman aged 46, was hit by a car and taken to hospital with serious injuries where she remains in a critical but stable condition.

An 11-year-old girl sustained leg injuries and is currently in hospital.

Two men, aged 20 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and theft of a motor vehicle. They are currently both in police custody.

Detective Sergeant Dean Caswell from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “I am asking for any witnesses or anyone with information about what happened yesterday afternoon to contact us.

“We are in the early stages of the investigation and we urgently need information on the circumstances that led to the collision.

“If you saw what happened just before the collision or have any dash-cam footage, please speak to us."
