Murder investigation launched after woman found in Aston home

We have launched a murder investigation after the body of a woman was found inside a house in Aston, Birmingham last night (Monday 23 March).
 
Officers were called to Sutton Street just after 6pm, where a 47-year-old woman was sadly found deceased inside her home.
 
An investigation is now underway to find out how Nageeba Alariqy  passed away and her family are being supported by specialist officers.
 
A 49-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody this afternoon (Tuesday 24 March).
 
Detective Inspector Hannah Whitehouse, from the force CID team, said: “We are in the very early stages of our enquiries and I would urge anyone who noticed any suspicious behaviour in the area last night, to contact us.
 
“We will be speaking with residents on the road today and asking them to check their CCTV for anything that could help us.”
