Man tricked into buying stolen Qashai

Police are appealing for information after a man was tricked into buying a stolen car in Birmingham.

The 58-year-old was duped into handing money to a man known as ’Dean Malik’ for a Nissan Qashqai in December 2018.

fraud suspect

He’d met Malik at City Heights on Old Snow Hill in the city centre and handed over £12k for the car.

It wasn’t apparent the car was stolen, and he was totally unaware he’d been duped until he was stopped by police.

The victim took a photo of the man who allegedly sold him the car. And officers are now appealing to trace that person.
