Detectives investigating a carjacking where a woman was dragged along the ground in Walsall have charged a man with robbery.

The victim suffered a broken arm and facial injuries as a Nissan Juke was stolen from Stoney Lane, Bloxwich, on 28 December.

The car was recovered days later and officers acted on information to arrest Craig Lewis.

The 36-year-old from Green Lane, Walsall, appeared before the town's magistrates court on Saturday (4 January) charged with robbery and two unrelated burglaries.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court on 3 February.
