Man charged over serious assault in Maypole

A man has been charged with wounding with intent after a man was left in a critical condition following an attack in Birmingham.

Jamie Taylor, aged 21 of Tidworth Croft, Kings Heath, is appearing before Birmingham Magistrates Court today (Saturday).

A man aged 22 who was also arrested has been released from police custody and will face no further action.

The victim, who is 23, remains in hospital in a critical condition.
He was in Alcester Road South, Maypole, at around 4.40pm on Thursday (19 September) when a row broke out with occupants of a passing car and he was assaulted.

At this early stage, it is believed two people were involved in the assault and enquiries are ongoing.
