Man charged with Handsworth murder
Officers investigating the murder of a man whose body was found in Birmingham on Thursday (13 June) have charged a man with causing his death.
Police were called to a shared accommodation property on Oxhill Road, Handsworth just before 12.30pm, where the body of Dean Bayliss was found by a care worker with fatal injuries to his neck.
A post-mortem examination revealed that the 57-year-old died as a result of several stab wounds.
Hardeep Bhachu, aged 36, of Oxhill Road in Handsworth was last night (Friday 14 June) charged with the murder of Mr Bayliss and is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court today (Saturday 15 June).
The family of Mr Bayliss, who are being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time, have released a picture and some words in tribute to him.
“The news of Dean’s sudden death has left us utterly heartbroken and devastated.
“Dean was a much loved father, stepfather, brother, uncle and friend to many, many people.
“Dean was a great man, selfless, loving and happy. He did not deserve to have his life end this way.
“We would like to sincerely thank everyone for their messages of support, which continues to bring us great comfort during this emotional time.”
