Man arrested in Sandwell double murder

We’ve arrested a man on suspicion of murder after the bodies of two people were found in Oldbury today.

We were called to the address in Moat Road following concerns for the welfare of the people living there.

When we forced our way in at around 4am, we found a man and a woman aged 54 and 52 respectively.

They were pronounced dead at the scene.

At around 5.30am, we arrested a 25-year-old man at an address in Smethwick on suspicion of two murders.

He remains in custody.

Our initial investigations have lead us to believe that this is a domestic-related incident, with no threat to the wider community.

The victims’ family is being support at this tragic time.
