Man arrested as murder investigation launched in Walsall

We've arrested a man on suspicion of murder after another man was found dead at a house in Walsall yesterday morning (24 May).

Officers gained entry to the property in Broad Lane, Bloxwich, at around 10.15am following concerns for the welfare of a 51-year-old man who lived there. He was sadly confirmed dead at the scene.

A forensic post mortem will take place in due course to establish the cause of death.

A 24-year-old man - understood to be known to the deceased - was arrested last night on suspicion of murder and remains in custody for questioning.

Detective Inspector Laura Harrison, from our homicide unit, said: "This is now an active murder investigation and we're working to establish the full circumstances of how this man sadly died.

"Following our initial enquiries we detained a man on suspicion of murder in the Bloxwich area last night and at this stage we believe this is domestic-related.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I'd urge anyone with information to contact us as soon as possible."

You can message us on Live Chat through our website or call 101, quoting log 1125 from 24 May.
