Man arrested following stabbing in Darlaston

Detectives investigating a stabbing outside a pub in Walsall on Wednesday (24 July) have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder. 

Officers were called to Forge Road, Darlaston around 11.15pm after a 21-year-old man was stabbed in the leg during a fight. 

He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition. 

A 19-year-old man handed himself into police today (26 July) and remains in police custody. 

A 21-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of affray has been released while enquiries continue. 

Detective Inspector Chris Fox from FCID, said: "I want to reassure the public that incidents like this are rare and we are working to establish the events leading up to this terrible incident. 

"CCTV is being reviewed and we continue to appeal to anyone with information no matter how insignificant it may seem to get in touch, as it could be vital to our investigation."
