Knives seized and two arrested as drugs found stuffed in man’s pants

We’ve arrested a pair of suspected drug dealers after one was found with what’s believed to be 150 heroin and crack cocaine wraps hidden inside his pants.

Officers responded to reports of a woman being robbed by men in Canal View, off Foleshill Road, yesterday evening (19 July).

They arrived minutes later and detained one man in the street while a teenager was stopped as he tried making off.

We recovered two knives, including a combat-style knife in a sheath believed to have been discarded by the 16-year-old shortly before he was arrested.

Officers seized around 60 wraps of white powder from the boy and when officers later searched the 24-year-old in custody a bag of drugs was found concealed in his underwear.

Both have been arrested on suspicion of drugs supply and knife possession and remain in police custody.

A quick 999 call to us meant we could get officers to the scene within minutes to make arrests and seize drugs and knives. A great result!
