A woman has died following a collision in Birmingham last night (17 August).
A blue Ford Fiesta had failed to stop for police a short time before the collision took place.
The Fiesta was later found in Crocketts Road, Birmingham at 9.42pm after being involved in a collision with another vehicle.
A 28-year-old woman from the Ford Fiesta sustained serious injuries; she was taken to hospital where she sadly died of her injuries.
Three people from the Volkswagen Golf suffered minor injuries with one person taken to hospital to be checked over.
A 34-year-old man is assisting police with their enquiries.
The woman’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by our specialist family liaison unit.
The force’s Professional Standards Department has been informed as well as the IOPC, as is normal procedure in a collision where a police vehicle is involved. Anyone with information can call the Collision Investigation Unit police on 101 quoting log number 2488 17 August.
