Investigation launched following burglary in Wolverhampton

We’re appealing for information following a burglary in Wolverhampton yesterday afternoon (10 October).

Three men forced their way into a house on Cooke Street in Goldthorn Park around 3.30pm.

Once inside they forced a pensioner on a chair before searching the address and escaping with cash and jewellery.

The 70-year-old managed to run to a neighbour’s address for help. She was taken to hospital to be checked over where she remains in a stable condition.

House to house enquiries have been carried out and CCTV enquiries are underway.

Detective Sergeant Neil Western from force CID, said: “The pensioner is thankfully doing ok, but was very shaken up by the incident and remains in hospital.

“This happened in broad daylight at a busy time of day. I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time who might have witnessed any suspicious behaviour to get in touch.”

Anyone with information should contact Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk between 8am to midnight, call 101 anytime or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Please quote crime number 20WV/240034L/19.
