Investigation after man dies after a collision in Coventry

We're investigating after a pedestrian sadly died following a collision in London Road, Coventry yesterday (17 Nov).

The man in his 30s suffered serious injuries when he was hit by a blue Ford Focus just after 6pm.

Despite the efforts of emergency crews he was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family has been informed and they are being supported by specialist officers at this distressing time.

The driver remained at the scene and is assisting us with our enquiries.

Officers have spoken to a number of witnesses but would ask anyone who has not yet spoken to them to get in contact.

DC Chris Ridge from the serious collision investigation unit, said: "Our thoughts remain with this young man's family at this difficult time.

“Our priority is to establish exactly what happened and we are reviewing CCTV footage from around the time of the collision.

“I would appeal to anyone who has any information in particular anyone with dash-cam footage that may have captured what happened, to get in touch quoting log 3558 from 17 Nov, or call 101.”

Alternatively to pass on what you know while remaining 100% anonymous, call independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
