Extra time to quiz Coventry murder suspect

We've been granted extra time to question a murder suspect as a man found dead in a Coventry flat has been named as Anil Vegad.

We discovered 57-year-old Mr Vegad at his home in Eden Street on Monday evening (1 June).

A 54-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into police custody for questioning.

We were this morning (3 June) granted a magistrates court extension which enables us to question the suspect for up to 36 more hours.

A post mortem is due to take place tomorrow and we're continuing to support the family of Mr Vegad during this difficult time.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for anyone with information which can assist our enquiries to come forward.

You can contact us via Live Chat on our website or call 101 quoting log number 4322 of 1 June.

Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111, tell them what you know, not who you are.
