Do you recognise straw hat Marks & Spencer knife robbers?
Two robbers donned straw hats and sunglasses in a bid to disguise themselves during a brazen supermarket raid in which they threatened staff with knives.
The pair walked into the M&S section of the BP garage on Hagley Road, Stourbridge, and picked up pizzas, beer and wine before approaching the checkouts at around 8.20pm.
But instead of paying, one produced a large kitchen knife − with the other revealing a meat cleaver − and demanded cash from the tills.
The men bagged cash − plus the alcohol and food − before making off on foot.
West Midlands Police has now released CCTV footage of the offence in the hope someone will recognise the men and get in touch.
Detective Sergeant Mark Dent, said: “The men act in a very blasé manner collecting items from the shelves and approaching the tills − but as soon as they get to the checkouts both produce knives and demand staff put money in their bag.
“There were several shoppers in the store along with staff but thankfully no-one was injured.
“Anyone who believes it’s OK to brandish knives in public needs to be caught quickly. I’d ask anyone who thinks they recognise the men − or anyone who was in the area at the time and remembers seeing the men − to get in touch."
Both men are white. One is around 6ft tall with a gingery beard and it’s believed he was wearing a fit-bit or similar type watch on his wrist.
His accomplice is shorter, around 5ft 7ins, and stockier build. It’s understood they spoke with local accents and stuffed cash and items into a navy and white beach type bag.
