Crime suspects arrested following pursuits
We've been hot on the trail of suspected criminals after making arrests following pursuits and footchases.
We tracked a suspicious vehicle after it made off from officers in Oldbury Road, Blackheath, around 8pm yesterday (5 January).
It hit speeds of up to 70mph and failed to stop at red lights as it drove around trying to shake off our cops.
It was involved in a minor collision and came to a stop on the High Street where the driver jumped out.
After a footchase a 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and also a burglary from November. He remains in custody for questioning.
We also tracked a stolen BMW 5 series which was on cloned plates and sped away from our officers in Great Barr yesterday afternoon.
It hit speeds of up to 90mph and mounted the pavement to bypass red lights before it was stung and came to a stop in New Inn Road, Birmingham, around 3pm.
The driver jumped out but after a brief footchase a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and theft of a motor vehicle. He also remains in custody.
