Coventry man charged with terrorism offences

A 52-year-old Coventry man has today (Thursday) been charged with terrorism offences.

Aftab Khan, of Dorset Road, Radford, will appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on 17 February charged with five counts of disseminating terrorism material and one count of possessing material likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.

Khan was arrested in July 2019 following a pre-planned operation. A 38-year-old man, also arrested during the same operation at a separate address, has been charged with firearms offences.

Mohammed Farrukh Yousif, of Cash’s Lane, Radford, will appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on 9 March charged with two counts of possessing ammunition, two counts of possessing a firearm and one count of possessing a prohibited weapon.

Every year thousands of reports from the public help police tackle the terrorist threat. If you see or hear something that doesn’t seem right, trust your instincts and ACT by reporting to police in confidence at

Reporting won’t ruin lives, but it could save them. Action Counters Terrorism. Remember, in an emergency, always dial 999.
