Cadets conduct knife sweep in Fens Pool park, Dudley

Our amazing cadets recently conducted a knife sweep at Fens Pool park in conjunction with local neighbourhood bobbies.

The high visibility sweep was part of ongoing effort by the force’s Cadet Unit to help tackle knife crime.

Knife sweep in Fens Pool park

The operation, conducted under the close supervision of Dudley young persons officers and the Brierley Hill neighbourhood team, involved the unit searching the park for knives and other weapons which may have been stashed or discarded in the area.

While they didn’t find any knives in the park it was a great initiative. Working together with young people to tackle the issue of knives is a great way to help drive out the culture of people feeling comfortable carrying knives or feel the need to carry them for their protection.

Knife crime has a really devastating impact on families and communities, and we believe it’s super heartening to see young people in the borough getting involved to make a difference.
