Murder investigation launched after man dies following assault on night out
We’ve launched a murder investigation after a man was fatally hurt while on a night out in Birmingham city centre.
The 50-year-old, from Birmingham, was involved in a disorder in Brindley Place, off Broad Street, at around 1.30am yesterday (29 August).
Extra patrols in nightlife centre following disorder
We’ll have extra police units on patrol in Birmingham city centre tonight to help people enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend safely.
Dozens more officers, plus dog handlers and traffic teams, will be deployed in Broad Street and the surrounding area this evening.
Man critically injured after assault on night out
A man is critically ill in hospital after being assaulted on a night out in Birmingham city centre.
The 50-year-old was involved in a disorder in Brindley Place, off Broad Street, at around 1.30am (29 Aug) when it’s understood he was struck with an object.
UPDATE: Three suspects in Birmingham Gay Village attack arrested
We’ve arrested three men following a violent attack on a couple in Birmingham’s Gay Village earlier this month.
A 24-year-old and 21-year-old were arrested on suspicion of robbery and wounding on Monday (23 August) and have been bailed while investigations continue.
Investigation launched after man found dead in Brierley Hill
We’re investigating after a man was found dead at his home in Brierley Hill yesterday evening (25 August).
The 68-year-old man was discovered in his flat in Dean Court, The Promenade, by family members just after 6pm. He had head injuries and had sadly died.
Man arrested on terrorism offences in Leicestershire
Detectives from Counter Terrorism Policing West Midlands CTU with the assistance of Leicestershire Police and Counter Terrorism Policing East Midlands arrested a 37-year-old man in Coalville, Leicestershire today (25 August) on suspicion of terrorism offences.
