A courageous cop who confronted and detained three burglars single-handed has received a Chief Constable’s Commendation for his bravery.

Sergeant Jason Beaumont was first on the scene of a shop burglary at the Cornbow Centre, Halesowen, in March last year.

Detectives investigating after a police officer was left critically injured in a hit-and-run in Coventry, have charged a man. 

PC Christopher Burnham was struck by a Mini in the Holbrooks area of the city at around 2.45pm on Wednesday (25 September).
