Naweed Ali, Khobaib Hussain, Mohibur Rahman and Tahir Aziz were today (Thursday 3 August) handed life sentences.

The four were unanimously found guilty at the Central Criminal Court in London yesterday (2 August) following a four and a half month trial.

Officer firing a Taser

West Midlands Police will double the number of officers armed with Taser following a major security review.

There are currently 643 Taser trained officers in the West Midlands including emergency response officers and all firearms officers.

Police are appealing for information after a man suffered a fatal stab wound following a row at a flat in Solihull.

It’s understood a dispute erupted at the property in Hopwas Grove, Kingshurst, that resulted in 20-year-old local man Callum Lees (pictured) being stabbed in the neck.

Detectives investigating a stabbing in Moseley have arrested a Birmingham man on suspicion of murder.

Sajad Hussain, aged 40, was stabbed in Tenby Road where he lived with his family on Sunday evening (6 August). He died a short time later in hospital.

A Birmingham man has been charged with the murder of father-of-one Sajad Hussain from Moseley. 

Haroon Rafiq, from Tenby Road, will appear before Birmingham magistrates today (Friday 11 August). 

The 23-year-old was arrested from his home address on Wednesday (9 August).
