Appeal for witnesses after series of indecent exposures in Solihull and Birmingham

We’re currently investigating a number of indecent exposure incidents and we’re asking for anyone with information to contact us.

We received three separate reports of a man indecently exposing himself in Babbs Mill Park, Solihull between 5.15pm and 7pm yesterday evening (19 February).

Detectives believe the incidents may be linked to similar offences in the Shard End area of Birmingham in recent weeks. The earliest was reported to us on Tuesday 2 February.

The suspect is described as black, 5ft 5ins to 5ft 7ins tall with a skinny build and aged in his late 20s or early 30s. Yesterday evening he was reportedly seen wearing black jogging bottoms and a black hooded top.

Enquiries to identify the man in relation to these incidents is ongoing and we are now asking the public to help us – if you have any information please get in touch as soon as possible.

The local team have stepped up their patrols in and around the area to offer reassurance to the local community and engage with people in the park following the reports.

We’re keen to speak to anyone who was in Babbs Mill Park yesterday evening and saw anything suspicious. You may think that what you saw bears no significance to this case, but your information could be extremely significant.

We know that this type of crime can also go unreported, with victims feeling shocked, upset or embarrassed by what has happened. However, these are serious crimes. We need to ensure that we have as much information as possible on every incident that has taken place.

If you have witnessed an incident of this nature in the local area in recent weeks, and have not yet reported it, please get in touch.

We can be contacted via live chat at 8am – midnight, or on 101 anytime. To remain 100% anonymous Crimestoppers can be called on 0800 555 111. Tell them what you know, not who you are. Please quote crime number 20SH/48676W/21.
