We’ve launched an investigation after a potentially hazardous substance was thrown at a man in Walsall this afternoon (18 January).
We called just after 2pm, by ambulance colleagues who were assisting a man with burns at a flat in Green Lane, Walsall.
The man, aged in his 20s, was attacked a short time earlier at a carpark on the corner of Long Archer Street, near to Electrical Strike. He was sat in a light coloured Audi A3 at the time.
It’s understood that two men, described as Asian, approached the Audi and an argument took place before the car sped off. While it’s not clear exactly what happened, we believe the substance was thrown during the altercation.
The victim was later found being sick at his flat in Green Lane. The substance has caused damage to his clothes and very minor injuries to his legs, and he has been taken to hospital for treatment.
At present an investigation is underway to determine what the substance was, exactly what happened and identify those responsible.
We’re appealing for anyone who was in the area and witnessed what happened, and anyone else with any information to get in touch with us as soon as possible. We can be contacted us via Live Chat on our website www.west-midlands.police.uk 8am − midnight, or by calling 101 anytime. Please quote log number 2276 of 18 January.
To remain anonymous please contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Tell them what you know, not who you are.
