Appeal to identify man found dead in Tipton
We’re appealing for your help in trying to identify a man who was found dead in Tipton last month.
We found the man collapsed near a shop in Great Bridge on Wednesday 15 April at around 6.30pm.
We attended with ambulance colleagues but he had sadly passed away.
It’s thought he may have been sleeping rough in a nearby outbuilding.
Unfortunately, we’ve not been able to identify the man, despite making extensive enquiries.
He’s described as white, aged approximately 40 and we believe he may be polish.
His death is currently being treated as unexplained and a number of specialist forensic opportunities to identify him are being explored.
Detective Inspector Adam Jobson, from our homicide team, said: “We really need your help to identify this man as we’ve not been able to make contact with his next of kin and loved ones.
“We feel sure that someone within the local community will know who he is, you may have previously seen him in the area.
“I’m also appealing to anyone who may have seen something on or around the days leading up to the 15 April.
“If you have any information, not matter how insignificant it may seem, please get in touch.
“We’re desperately trying to establish this man’s identity so we can contact his family and determine exactly what happened.
“A man has lost his life and we’re sure people within the community know him or may have information about how he died. His family deserve to know, so if you can help us, please do."
Anyone with any information is urged to contact us via Live Chat on our website, or call 101, quoting log number 3880 of 15 April.
Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111. Tell them what you know, not who you are.
