Appeal after man dies following collision in Bloxwich
We're appealing for information after a motorbike rider died following a collision with a car in Walsall.
Officers were called to the junction of Ingram Road and Valley Road, Bloxwich, at just before 9pm yesterday (20 March) and found an 18-year-old man with serious injuries.
Despite the best efforts of medical staff the teenager was sadly confirmed dead at the scene. The pillion passenger on the KTM bike, a boy aged 17, suffered minor injuries.
We arrested the 37-year-old driver of the car - a grey Skoda Octavia - on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs and he has been released pending further investigations.
Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes, from our Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “A young man has tragically lost his life and left a family devastated. We have specialist officers supporting them at this difficult time.
“We are urgently appealing for anyone with information to contact us. We are particularly keen to hear from anybody who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle just beforehand.
“We would also ask for anyone with dash cam footage to get in touch as soon as possible.”
Information can be given by contacting collision investigators on FL_COLLISION_INVEST@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk or via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk between 8am and midnight. Quote log 2982 of 20/03/20.
