Appeal after man arrested following domestic assaults in Solihull
We are appealing for information after a man has been arrested following a series of domestic assaults in Solihull overnight.
We were initially called to an address in Solihull at 10.30pm yesterday (15 January) to reports a man threw a brick at two women and gestured he had a gun, before he got back in his car and drove away.
Over the course of the evening, there were several more incidents involving the same group of people, including a head on collision on Castle Lane. And resulted in a 26-year-old man being arrested by officers on the M42 in the early hours of this morning (16 January).
Three women were injured in these assaults, with one woman having suffered broken ribs and a broken arm. They have all since been discharged from hospital.
T/Detective Chief Inspector Dave Sproson from the force’s Public Protection Unit said, “Although we have a man in custody, we are still urging anyone who witnessed any of these incidents to contact us as a matter of urgency.
“We take domestic assaults incredibly seriously, and especially during lockdown where we have seen a rise in these types of crime, we are doing all we can to investigate and apprehend those offenders.”
