Appeal after cyclist seriously injured in Bordesley Green collision

Police are appealing for information after a cyclist was seriously injured in a collision in Bordesley Green last night (10 June).

The 46-year-old was involved in a collision with an Audi A3 on the B4128 Bordesley Green East at around 10.40pm.

He was taken to hospital with a serious head injury where he remains in a critical condition.

The road was closed for a number of hours while traffic officers carried out initial investigations. The driver remained at the scene and has been assisting with enquiries.

A number of witnesses have already been spoken to but officers are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

Sgt Alan Wood, of the Collision Investigation Unit at West Midlands Police, said: “This investigation is still in its early stages and we are trying to piece together exactly what happened. 

"The collision happened near Bordesley Green Recreation and around 150 metres past the junction with Eastfield Road, heading towards Stechford.

"We would like to hear from anyone who saw anything around the time of the collision to contact us. Any information could prove important in establishing the circumstances.”
