Women arrested for burglary after getting caught in homeowner's bedroom

Two women have been arrested after homeowners found them in a bedroom of their home.

We were called to Stratford Road in Sparkhill yesterday evening (2 April) after the occupants discovered two women in their property. The pair were disturbed and ran off down Stratford Road.

Officers from the Sparkhill team had popped back to the police station for their break – but abandoned their sandwiches and cuppa to give chase!

They tracked down two women nearby that matched the descriptions given by the victims.

Women aged 18 and 38 were arrested on suspicion of burglary; the 38-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of theft in relation to another incident. They both remain in police custody today (3 April).
