Police investigation into death of Sutton Coldfield man
Police have launched an investigation after a man who was found with serious injuries in his Sutton Coldfield home, died this morning (Wednesday 11 December).
Officers were called to a Birmingham hospital at around 3.45am this morning, where a 72-year-old man had been treated for head injuries, but sadly passed away.
The man was found by ambulance staff at his address on Stonehouse Road near to Sutton Park a few hours earlier.
A woman aged 21 and a 19-year-old man have both been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody, as enquiries continue to establish the circumstances that led to the man’s death. A post mortem examination will take place in due course and the man’s next of kin are being identified.
Detective Inspector Nick Barnes from the Force CID team, said: “We are still exploring the circumstances surrounding this tragic death and I would appeal for anyone who was in the Stonehouse Road area of Sutton Coldfield or The Sutton Park Hotel pub last night (Tuesday 10 December) and heard or saw anything suspicious to come and speak to us.”
