A Dudley woman found with nearly 2,000 indecent images, many of children, has been found guilty following a trial.

Jasmine Rowbottom, aged 24, was arrested after officers from the Online Child Exploitation Team executed a warrant at her home on 6 June 2016.

A painstaking investigation followed and over 50 pieces of computer equipment examined.

Jasmine Rowbottom was found guilty of making indecent images and movies of children and possession of extreme pornograph.

She denied the offences and claimed the images must have been caused by a virus on her computer or via a USB stick given to her years before.

Specialist forensic examiners were able to prove this was not the case and Rowbottom was found guilty following a trial last month of making indecent images and movies of children and possession of extreme pornography.

On Monday (7 October) she was given 21 month prison sentence suspended for two years. She was also given a two-year supervision order, was placed on the sexual harm prevention order for 10 years and the sex offenders register for 10 years.
