Diamond Awards 2020 - 2021

We are looking for nominations in a variety of categories for police officers, members of police staff, PCSOs and special constables who have made a real difference in your community, people who have dedicated their time and effort to improving the lives of others, helping to build safer and stronger communities.

You can download and print a paper copy of the nomination form, where you can either scan and email the form back to us at diamond_awards@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk or post them to:

For work completed between 1 January 2020 - 1 March 2021.

Nomination Categories

The Neighbourhood Team Excellence Award

We are looking for a team that can demonstrate how they have tackled along standing neighbourhood issue through integrated working with partners and the community. Having tackled the issue, how the team then shared this learning with others.

Our Values In Action

This recognises a team, individual or volunteer who has championed the force’s vision and values of preventing crime, offering friendship and service,displaying courage and fairness while being prepared to listen and learn,making their family proud.

Driving Diversity

For an individual or team who has made a positive impact across the field of diversity. This could include tackling discrimination, encouraging equality and inclusion or promoting the power of diversity across the force.

The Andrew Le Comte Memorial Cup for Inspirational Leadership

The winner will have inspired others with a passion for policing, allowing others to achieve and reach their potential while offering outstanding leadership skills.

Creativity And Innovation

This is for an individual or team who through being creative and considering new approaches has enhanced the force’s service to the communities it serves.

Student Officer Of The Year

This recognises student officers including new special constables who have made an immediate impact, shown exceptional commitment, a passion for policing and demonstrated the force values.

Team Of The Year

This award will be given to the team or department who have worked together to demonstrate the power and effectiveness of excellent teamwork while exemplifying the force values.

Employee Of The Year

(Four awards - Police Officer, PCSO, Specials and Police Staff) These awards celebrate outstanding service by individuals who typify the force values, and work over and above what is required by their job.

The PCC’s Community ‘ThankYou’ Award

Awarded to an individual or group who have worked with the police, providing assistance through local initiatives such as watch or community groups.

Investigator Of The Year

This award is in memory of DetectiveSuperintendent Barrie Simpson. This award recognises an individual officer or member of police staff who embodies quality investigation through excellent detective work. This award will recognise an individual, who through either large or small scale investigations has gone above and beyond to provide a service for victims and prevent further crime.
